Google gives enterprise conversational agents a live visual presence
Google introduced Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar in Gemini Enterprise, combining spoken interaction with generated video. Agents can continue dialogue while tools run in the background. Custom avatars require enterprise allowlisting, and Google says generated audio and video carry SynthID watermarks. The launch describes new interface capabilities, not independent evidence of better customer service.
Context & source check
An expressive interface should still be judged on task completion, disclosure and reliable handoffs. Test whether an avatar helps users understand a process before adding it to a customer-facing workflow.
